     Early Childhood:

  1. Increase Early Childhood Learning Center day care enrollment by two families by September 2000
  2. Increase Early Childhood Family Education participation by 20 percent during the 2000-2001 school year so parents will feel a part of the District even before children reach school-age

     Elementary:

  1. Expand/improve Westside Park and Kwik Trip Park to include a handicap accessible play ground and basketball standard, as well as baseball, football, and soccer fields in order to expand opportunities for youth and bring youth sports practices into the community by Spring 2002.
  2. Complete the bike trail from Chester Woods to Elgin/Plainview to Lanesboro in order to connect communities, foster family activity and encourage physical activity.
  3. Build a swimming pool to be used by the schools and the public by 2004. (Also a Early and Late Adolescent Goal.)
  4. Do a feasibility study for a community center/recreation center that would provide a gathering place for all ages to be open by 2005.
  5. Create more "club" activities (education, art, sports, etc.) and activities that will encourage family participation through Community Education to foster ongoing relationships with caring adults and bring the community together. (New programs to be available beginning January 2001.)

     Early and Late Adolescents:

  1. Build a YMCA program in our community within 3 years
  2. Reduce teen drug and alcohol use by 50% in 2-3 years
  3. School improvements (new gym, heating /air conditioning, bleachers, auditorium, bathrooms, locker rooms, track) completed within 8 years (develop a plan by end of 2000-2001 school year)
  4. Build a public pool in Eyota by 2004
  5. Attract businesses to a welcoming community, which would create jobs and apprenticeship opportunities for youth
